The Model 1818 cavalry saber has a 32 inch blade, is iron mounted, and has a leather grip (long gone on this example) and iron scabbard. The blade on this saber is bright with scattered staining, a few areas of roughness, and a manufacturing defect in front of the fuller on the right. It is marked US/P/JN/N. STARR. The guard is dated 1821. The scabbard is good with the upper hangar swivel missing and an approx. 2"" split at the upper rear seam.
