Named World War II Canteen Canvas Lined Pouch and Cup
Description: This is a World War II Canteen with cup and canvas lined pouch belonging to Larry Reich. The canvas lined pouch is marked US and was made by Scott Mfg. Co. and has the soldiers name “Larry Reich" printed on cloth tape inside the flat. The canteen has the flat top and is marked “U.S. T.A.C. Co. 1943" with a cloth name tag glued to the front. The handled cup is marked “U.S. 1942" with the manufacturer symbol and the cloth name tag glued to the outside. While the provenance is not clearly delineated an online search revealed that a Larry Reich, a city planner from Baltimore served in World War II in the 312th Combat Engineers which was part of Gen. George Patton’s 3rd Army which saw action during the Battle of the Bulge. The canteen has several dents and use marks and the cap turns easily. The cup shows some surface corrosion on the inside and the aluminum surface has darkened with age and use. A great piece of World War II history that would add to any collection and would be fun to research. Please see the photographs for further information on condition.
