.65 caliber 37"" round barrel Trade gun by wheeler circa 1800s altered to percussion from flintlock. Metal is a dark brown patina with pitting noted at the drum bolster. Lock plate is marked Wheeler & Son with a circle fox forward of the hammer. Stock shows some moderate wear with some wood loss noted at the rear of the lock plate. Trigger guard is oversized and has been attached by an old staple. Action functions but will not hold at full cock. Forward barrel pin is missing.
