12 bore, 34” round barrel with octagonal breech and a moderately oxidized bore. The metal surfaces have mostly toned to a deep plum-brown patina showing scattered areas of old light oxidation, a bit more moderate around the nipple bolster which also shows some expected erosion from cap splash. The back action lockplate is a similar patina, the hammer with a simple fish scale pattern and its screw is a more modern undersized replacement. Barrel is equipped with under-rib and dual ramrod thimbles and there is no tailpipe present. The remaining hardware is rather spartan with brass triggerguard and buttplate and an un-engraved German silver monogram plate along the toe line. The smooth walnut stock remains in about very good condition as lightly cleaned showing a few thin cracks on the left side near the lock screw and at the toe, some scattered thin slivers and light handling marks. and an antique brass-tipped ramrod is present and the lock remains functional.
