Rare 1871 Coach or Carriage Gun Great Condition Antique Percussion Rifle
Description: Too many guns. Time to downsize. Had this gun several years but I never got around to shooting it. I had it checked out by a very reputable antique gunsmith that happens to live nearby who has been in the business for over 50 years. Action and barrel are in fine condition and its ready to shoot. It is .395 caliber and is 36 inches long. Men carried these rifles on stagecoaches or carriages to put / hide in small areas usually the box that they sat on or elsewhere. Though markings of the maker cannot be seen, when the gunsmith took away the stock he found the name BEERSTER; No. 185; and 1871 etched in the underside of the barrel. Stock has a few nicks, etc. with age but is in very good condition.- no cracks or other damage. I forgot to ask him about the rod but I doubt its original. Any question call 570-971-2773. Be happy to share what I know. Also included is patches, powder, etc. as shown in the picture. Antique: Yes Price: $1,450.00 Contact Seller |
