Description: Springfield 1855 Percussion Pistol 16-59 Cal. 59 NSN. Bbl. 12” md. With facetted breech. 1856 Date lock with Maynard self priming device. Square bas front sight with 2 leaf graduated rear sight. Walnut stock with brass buttcap, trigger guard, bbl. Band & forearm cap. Iron backstrap has attachment holes for shoulder stock. Button tipped swivel ramrod. Condition: Gray metal with scattered very light pitting. Stock have weathered appearance with handling marks having small cracks & chips in lock, sideplate & forearm areas. Bore with spots of pitting. Antique.
