U.S. MODEL 1840 CAVALRY SABER BY AMES.

Description:
Dated 1846, and "JH" inspected on the ricasso. Ames mfg. stamped on the left side of the blade. In superb original condition with possibly the best untouched blade I have seen. Excellent scabbard, free of dents and showing the obverse polish on the drag. Lovely untouched brass guard with a deep patina remaining. Original wire wrap and the leather grips is excellent and original. This is one of the best I have seen.
