"R.A. Browne Single Shot Box Lock Miniature Pistol (CUR304)
Description:
"R.A. Browne Single Shot Box Lock Miniature Pistol. Very well made English style Box Lock Percussion pistol. This gun appears to be an antique. We would guess 1900 or before. We are not familiar with this maker and have not been able to find any information other than the label on the inside of the case. It says -Est. 1885- and -Watchmaker & Jeweler- then R.A. Browne/8/CHURCH LANE/BELFAST-. This is a well-made Box Lock Percussion pistol that has an engraved frame and grip. Action is fully functional. This is a very small miniature. Its total length is 1.75"". Guns of the same maker are illustrated in The Art of Miniature Firearms on page 267. These are clearly by the same maker, but at the time of printing, the authors were unaware of the maker. Very well made!
