Miniature Brazilian miliary sword. From wayndriscillminiatures, his 2012 ad reads: "I believe the sword is Brazilian military and looks to be about 1/6 scale. It i he most elaborate miniature sword I have ever seen and quite small. Overall length is 5 - 13/16" (148mm). Blade is 4-1/2" polished steel with elaborate etched ornamentation including the markings "DUQUE DE CAXIAS". Two piece ivory handles. Gold washed guard & trim. Nickel plated scabbard wth gold washed trim & rings. Excellent 99,9% mint condition. Eterior of box shows some wear, mostly foxing of the finish and wear to the corners. Case measures 7-1/2" x 2-3/8". Exterior is a dark green textured leather. Interior is a banner marked "Eberle", "ACE" (in triangle" and "Marcas Registradas". Interior lining is dark green velvet bottom wtih white silk padded lid. Lid exterior with Brazilian cest and 5 point star, marked "ESADOS UNIDOSIO De BRASIL, 15 de NOVEMBE de1899" Probably to commemorate a special event associated with the Dke of Caxias Luis Alves de Lima e Silva.
