Fancy Engraved, Gold Inlayed Colt 1860 Army Revolver Miniature by Uberti
Description: This is a high grade miniature replica of a Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver that was made by Uberti in the early 1980's. 47% Scale to the original. Uberti made these for different markets and grades in both Europe and North America including Colt through the US Historical Soceity. This particular minature is a Prestige Model which has some absolutely incredible engraving, fancy walnut grips, and gold inlays on the barrel as well as a gold plated trigger guard. It features a genuine case color hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever just like the originals along with a very attractive highly polished charcoal blued barrel, cylinder, and backstrap. The engraving is not only well executed but it's actually very close to being period correct to a late 1860's vintage original when Colt went to what some collectors call "Vine Scroll". Note the banner that runs along the top of the barrel flute...Colt actually engraved 1860's after the Civil War using this pattern so whoever engraved this revolver was not only good, they did their homework and knew about this style. It was only used but for a few years circa 1865-1870. Three Quarters of this revolver is engraved which includes engraving on the frame, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap, hammer, and of course the cylinder has the original roll engraved scene of the naval engagement just like the original Model 1860's. This revolver works just like an original...cocks, rotates. It even has a rifled barrel and the tiny safety pins on the rear face of teh cylinder. Left side of the trigger guard is even marked "44 CAL" just like an original Civilian Post War era gun. The grips are deluxe walnut with that dark layered grain flow with a hint of rays running through the growth rings on the left hand side....much like many of Colt's original presenation models. The assemblage of talented craftsmen who made these in Italy during the 1980's are gone and it's my understanding that Uberti no longer produces even standard grade miniatures. I can't imagine what it would cost to produce something like this in 2022. The engraving alone would cost more than the price of the gun itself. This is quite a piece of art and would make a fantastic display, a birthday gift, or just a piece of eye candy sitting on your desk. $15.00 shipping in US Lower 48.
