Rare, Awesome BSA Model 1914 Machine Gun
SALE PENDING
Description: This is a rare and highly desirable Birmingham Small Arms Model 1914 machine gun from World War 1. These were widely used by the British troops during the war, and have a distinctive barrel cooling shroud and top-mounted pan magazine. These earned the nickname, "the Belgian Rattlesnake", from German soldiers faced with its rate of fire of 550 rounds per minute. The Lewis gun weighed in at 26lbs, as compared o the 90+ lbs of the Colt Model 1914 or Vickers machine gun, so its mobility contributed to its success. This example has nice, original bluing on the receiver and metal parts. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, but shows some frost and freckling in the grooves. The listing includes a total of two magazines, a canvas mag carrier, a spare gear casing, and a misc spare part. Fully transferrable machine gun on a form 4.
