Description:
Up for your consideration is a 1919 manufactured Colt M1917 .45Acp double action revolver. This Colt revolver was used a main M&P pistol for a few short years and they are true gems for Pre-War Colt collectors. This M1917 has all proper military markings uncluding the armory markings on the butt, "United States Property" under the lug and a small ordinance stamp on the crane. Overall finish on this gun is good to excellent with minor pitting here and there but no major rusting or loss of the original blue finish. Some of the proofmarks and lettering are fading slightly but this in no way detracts from the overall patina look of this gun that collectors desire. As stated this gun is chambered in .45Acp with 6in BBL and the rifling and chambers have seen use but are excellent with great sharp rifling with only some minor frosting, the cylinder is also in good condiiton with sharp clean edges on the chambers and clean shiny walls. Lock up and action is tight and in time. All mechanical functions on this gun work flawlessly. The grips have seen wear and use but have no cracks or chips in them with great color and stunning look on this classic wheelgun.
