This is a single cartridge in .45-75 manufactured by Dominion Cartridge Co. in Canada made for the model 1876 Winchester Carbine used by the North West Mounted Police (later renamed the R.C.M.P.). The cartridge is head stamped D.C.Co 1900 (marked by O on either side of the primer and 45-75. These cartridges that were issued and used have become quite scarce. The info relating to this is found on page 88 & 89 of Arms & Accoutrements of the Mounted Police 1873-1973 . This book is available from our book section.
