Savage Musket 303 Savage Ammo
Description:
This two piece twenty round box has the "Utica, N.Y." address with hostile Indian on ends of top and cartridge cut on front. Lower front label has interesting "Free from Nitrog-glycerine" callout and recommendation against reloading. This box would date from the 1907 to 1913 period. Box remains in very good condtiion with tape residue on bottom. Bottom has been glue repaired with one end missing a small area of lower label. Top, sides, front and bck have legible labels with light soiling and shelf wear. Box contains 19 load3d rounds and one case broken off at neck. These are loaded with full metal jacket bullets and show staining, with some split necks. A very scarce early savage box which came with a model 99 Montreal home guard musket.
