Description:
This is an amazing example of the Swiss M1871 Socket Bayonet that retains a great amount of the original bluing. The excellent 19 ½" cruciform blade has no apparent blemishes and has a nice tip. The elbow is marked "3476" and on the other side is a proof mark. This Socket bayonet is used with the Swiss 10.4 mm. Vetterli M1871 Infantry and M1871 Stutzer (sharpshooter) repeating rifles. This bayonet could also be used with the M1863/67 Milbank-Amsler conversion; M1867 Peabody; and, M1869 Vetterli rifles.;
