Original and rare first edition "Heroes of the Plains" hardcover book by Buel. Published in 1891, this book has survived 130 years with only light use to the hard cover, no damage to the binding, typical yellowing of the pages from age, and only slight staining in a few spots, with a couple on notes written in pencil. Also, the title page has an embossed stamp showing the book was previously part of the George Albert Stilphen Library in Maine. Over 600 pages of text/stories and illustrations! Stories include such famous Western characters as Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill Cody, Sitting Bull, Kit Carson, Capt. Jack Crawford, and General George Armstrong Custer. A very historical and collectible book for the Old West/antique book collector!
