Rare Ethan Allen & Co. Factory Letter 1866 Featured In Paul Henry Book
Description: This is a rare August 4, 1866 dated letter from "The Office of Ethan Allen & Co." which names Ethan Allen along with his sons-in-law, S. Forehand, and H.C. Wadsworth, in the heading along with illustrations of their breech loading rifle, double barrel shotgun, Army percussion revolver and single shot side swing pistol. This rare piece of Ethan Allen company ephemera was pictured in Paul Henry's excellent book Ethan Allen and Allen & Wheelock on p.111 to illustrate the late prominence of the 44 caliber percussion Army revolvers that at that time were converted to 44 rimfire cartridges which they also manufactured and is featured in the letter head art. The blue lined letter is encased between two sheets of thick plastic and remains in excellent condition with crisp graphics. The frame measures 9 ½" x 12 3/8" This will make an excellent display item to pair with your Ethan Allen firearm and would make a welcome addition for the most advanced collection. SOLD |
