"U.S. Civil War Model 1860 Heavy Cavalry Sword by C. Roby ( SW1877) CONSIGNMENT

"

Heavy Cavalry sword made by Christopher Roby of Chelmsford, Mass. Blade is 34.75"" in length with a slight curve, fuller is 27.5"" in length. Blade is a dull polished grey patina with speckled oxidation visible throughout. Ricasso is marked ""C.ROBY/W.CHELMSFORD/MASS"". Opposite side is marked ""U.S./1865/A.G.M"". Brass hilt, guard and pommel have an aged discoloration. Wired wrapped leather handle does show handling and usage wear. Scabbard's tins finish has surface oxidation with flaking noted in some areas.
