Antique Bowie Knife
Description:
Nice Civil War Bowie knife with original sheath. Sheath has period added frog over the nickel silver throat, and a leather replacement tip. Knife has warm honey-gold colored ivory grips. Length of knife is almost 10-3/4" with a blade loss of just over 1/4". This is from normal use, not abuse. Very heavy full tang construction with 1/4" tang thickness. The anvil shaped guard has a crack so it's a little wobbly but not too distracting.
The sheath is embossed with "IXL" in gold letters.
Knife is Marked "G. Wostenholm & Sons / Washington Works".
