Civil War Bullet & Cartridge Lot Smith Carbine Gardiner Sage

Description:
This is a lot of 7 identified bullets and cartridges from the Civil War including both Union and Confederate. They are from a large collection that followed A Handbook of Civil War Bullets & Cartridges by Thomas and Thomas. Included is #41 - .44 Cal Sage two groove bullet, #72 - .50 Cal Smith Carbine reproduction cartridge with two original bullets #149 - .58 Cal Rifle Musket 3 groove "minnie" bullet with the original skin cartridge attached, and #206 - .71 Cal rifle musket bullet for imported muskets. Also included is a Confederate , #162 - .58 Cal Gardner bullet for which Frederick Gardner receiver Confederate patent #12 on August 17, 1861 which employed a unique method of securing the paper to a flange molded around the bullet and crimped in the process securing the powder tube. All come in collector tubes and are identified with the number from the book. Photo of book is shown but not included for sale but are readily available online.
