I purchased this at an estate that had a bronze CSA grave marker and Civil War tintypes. It was found
after the catalog had been printed, and was only available to the house.
When I saw it, I immediatley knew
what it was! The wear, discoloration of the soiled butternut felt and numerous moth holes, gave it away. The hat brim
trim is worn away in some areas and has a hand stiched band attached to the hat with the metalic acorn rope finishes it off.
The inner, leather sweat band is becoming unattached in two areas. Last photo is a Confederate hat on display, at the National Civil War history museum in Hanover PA. Identical to mine with color, more like mine really is. I am cofident it is 100% real. Again, you have a full week
