Model 1840 Ames Musician Sword and Scabbard
Description: Very nice looking Ames Model 1840 Musician Sword, dated 1864, with scabbard. Virtually mint blade, nice looking scabbard that did have break right above the drag. I did an amateur repair with internal splices and black caulk to display on the wall, at least it looks better than electrical tape. Sword will go all the way into the scabbard, but you have to do so carefully and with a lot of force to get it in and out. Doing so often will likely break the scabbard again. I would just display them side by side. Clear Ames maker mark. Matching inspector on blade and scabbard drag, but the inspector strike on the blade only shows "F", the scabbard drag shows "JF". Small hole drilled in the drag, likely done to hang on wall for display. Please take a look at all the photos as they provide the best description. Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Shipping cost $30.00. Price: $395.00 Contact Seller |
