Scarce Pair of 1830's Officer Coat Tail and Militia Cap Insignia

Offered is a scarce pair of looped horn insignia designed to adorn the coattails of infantry officers in the 1830's,  You often find these insignia in singles, because they were also used singly as hat insignia by state militia forces during the 1840's and 1850's. Very seldom do you find them as a correct matched pair to be worn on coats, with the mouths of the horns pointing in opposite directions.
