A Handsome sword cane. The body is a tapered octagon shaft of curly maple with a large stag button handle at the top. Fine condition and perfectly working. A twist of the wrist and pull reveals the stiletto blade hidden within. The overall length as a cane is 33" and the condition is very good. It is an uncommon version of this type of defensive weapon curio. It has a sharp pointed tip and could be a formidable defensive weapon. The piece ends with a nickle and iron ferrule. The condition is very good. (Similar pieces are pictured in "Canes Through the Ages", by Francis H. Monek.)
