German WW II original silver German War Service Cross 1st Class with swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern).

This late issue award is made from a die struck zinc base metal that rapidly oxidized to a gray color from the original silver washed finish.
The Lieferant code 4 stamped on the cross pin indicates this was made by Karl Gutenkunst, Munich, Germany.
