This is a Mechanical Time Fuze MK18 Mod 2 Brass fuze in excellent condition. This fuze was used in naval guns during and after WW II. It was used on 5"/38 projectiles and also fits 6" and 8" projectiles. This is a cut-away model that shows the working parts and breaks down into 4 individual parts. This group includes the shell adapter with the auxiliary detonator fuze. The base is stamped “USN Master NP70302L-3" in my research this is the only example I could find of a Mk.18 Mod 2 cut-away.
