Rare Early Canvasback by Jacob Keefer Circa 1878

Description:
A very early canvasback drake by Jacob Keefer of Bath,Il.Keefer was one of the first Illinois river carvers and is featured in the book "Illinois River Decoys and Carvers" by Parmalee.This bird still retains the original working paint which has cracked with age.It is hollow body construction and has the original weights.This decoy dates to around 1878 and is very rare.A real piece of sporting history.
