Confederate Cavalry Sword and Scabbard

Description:
This Confederate sword has never been tampered with.. as found. This sword has all the expected flaws that you would expect to find. I perticulary like the grip just as it left the factory, has the original polished wood grip with a single strain of steel wire.(never covered with leather) Guard is crudely cast as the pommel cap has flaws also, Guard is pushed in slightly from a hard strike. (photo 3,4,5) Scabbard has a crude lapped over seam, with brass throat and ring mounts, Rings and drag are iron.Scabbard has some dings and covered with old rust. Blade non marked with unstopped fuller.The blade has old pitting near the tip of blade for about 6 inches and the very tip is bent over for a 1/4 inch. This is a perfect example of a dog river that saw use and taken home after the war, eventually put in the attic and forgotten.. I was told this was purchased from Steve Mullinax in the 80's I will give a 3 day inspection period if not fully satisfied must be notified of return in the3 day inspection. and returned Priority mail insured.
