Description:
Lyman 36 Peepsight for installation on the bolt stop of a 1950s era Mannlicher Schoenauer rifle (Models 1950/52/56 or MCA). Includes mounting screws, and original packaging, but not original mounting instructions (those can be found online).
This will not fit directly on a pre-WWII (1903/05/08/24 including Greek ir Italian Bredas) MS. Steyr changed the shape of the bolt release after the second world war. The Lyman sights for those older rifles came with a custom bolt stop and the peep arm is a little bit shorter as a result, where is the Lyman sight (like this one) for the 1950s rifles mounted to the factory bolt release. In theory you could mount this on a 1903 or 1908 by installing it on a 1950s bolt release (The added thickness of these releases allows the peep arm to align over center line) but you would then need to modify the stock to fit the different shape of the boat release from the later rifles.
This sight is an excellent shape. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
