"Fantastic Sheffield Bowie Knife that Converts to Short Sword (MEW4277)

Description:
"This is a truly fantastic and Unique Bowie knife by Wragg in Sheffield England. The blade is decorated in relief etched and engraved scrolls and geometric designs. One side of the blade is marked “T. CURLEY & BRO’R/ IMPORTERS" while the reverse side is marked “MANUFACTURED by WRAGG/ SHEFFIELD" This knife has a D guard handle  made of Sterling silver in high relief floral motifs. The handle are two piece tortoise shell. This is a one off unique knife as it folds out into a longer short sword. The knife blade measures 10.5" and when folded out into a short sword comes to 15.5" This Bowie is featured on a full page in Norm Flayderm’s The Bowie Knife Unsheathing an American Legend  on page 405. It is also in Steel Canvas by R. L. Wilson on page 208. This knife sold in the early 1990s through Butterfield and Butterfield for the staggering amount of $34,500!! This is an exceptional and unique Bowie knife worthy of the very finest collection!
