Description:
This very rare vintage model is part of two versions of the renowned knife originally used in the movie "First Blood." The slightest variations find on each knife can be easily observed. However, the real difference lies in two minor details: the shape of the sawteeth and the final shape of the sharp cutting edge, one of which is curved while the other is straight; otherwise everything else is the same. The 9" blade has fourteen protuberant sawteeth extending along about half of the false edge, while stopping about an inch from the guard. Both models were contained in a leather scabbard with hone pocket for a sharpening stone (not provided) and made of full stainless steel construction. In theory the saw works on wood only because the sharpening of the teeth is exactly the same as the ones find on an industrial milling machine cuter or a machine saw. These are very beautiful knives, yet, very functional as a survival tool that will withstand the harsher uses. All with all knives made byJean Tanazacq, they are delivered with a very aggressive cutting edge ready for any tasks.These knives are extremely difficult to manufacture due in part to the relatively very limited amount of machinery used by Jean. This model is mounted in leather washers with deep grooves for the handle as the one depicted in picture # 11 when such model was made exclusively for the cutlery store La Cisellerie in Lyon, France back in 1982/83. Knife has a solid brass double guard and a matching brass butt cap fitted with two tie-down thongs. Contained in a very strudy, thick high-quality leather scabbard equipped with a swivel on the back.
