"WWII German 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger by SMF (Solingen) – (MEW4332)

Description:
"Original 1st Model Luftwaffe officer’s dagger manufactured by SMF of Solingen. Features a 12" bright blade marked “SMF / SOLINGEN", with a Luftwaffe inspection stamp just below the ricasso. Blade retains the original leather buffer pad. The cross guard and pommel display a pleasing aged patina.The blue leather-wrapped grip is in excellent condition, with the triple aluminum wire wrap fully intact. The blue pebbled leather scabbard is in near excellent condition, showing only minor handling impressions. The aluminum scabbard fittings have aged to a uniform patina. Fitted with the original aluminum chain hanger, consisting of 13 lower and 9 upper ringlets, terminating in an unmarked clip. All four sun wheel swastikas retain their gold gilding. An excellent and well-preserved example of a 1st Model Luftwaffe dagger, showcasing classic pre-war craftsmanship and complete original components.
