Sold to B.John's in Nebraska// Model 11 Alaska Skinner USED w/Compass & Sheath - Randall’s original drop point blade. Used but in excellent shape! After more than 70 years, it is still one of their most usable knives. Designed in 1952 by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, for big game skinning, with a point that is "dropped" below the top of the blade to prevent cutting too deeply through the skin when used point first. The top of the blade is notched in front of the hilt for thumb placement. This is a serious hunting knife with a 3/16" thick 3-1/4" blade of O1 high carbon tool steel (not stainless) at 53-55 Rc., Stag handle, brass hilt and butt cap and a Model A leather sheath with sharpening stone. Measures 7-3/8" tip to butt.
