Canadian Uniform Grouping Royal Canadian Reg. (Korean War Era)
Description: This grouping consists of three items: First is a men's two pocket battledress jacket (size 13) in somewhat coarse olive-brown worsted with button front and buckle closure on the hem. There are no insignia on the jacket other than a four place ribbon bar above the left breast pocket that houses a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal ribbon, 1939-1945 War Medal ribbon, Korea Medal ribbon, and a U.N. Service Medal ribbon (all covered in an old protective celluloid wrap). The jacket is in excellent shape and has an intact olive green cloth lining with a full complement of uniform buttons and a clear maker's stamp on the interior (Tip Top Tailors Ltd./1950). A loose, nearly new original blue on black felt shoulder flash is present in the left breast pocket and has "THE ROYAL/CANADIAN REGIMENT" embroidered in bullion along the center. Second is an original 1951 dated olive felt beret (size 7") with Canadian Forces acceptance stamp and "Dorothea Knitting Mills/LIMITED/TORONTO" maker's label printed on the black cloth interior lining. The beret is in fine shape with some minor flaking and damage along the leather edging and there is a mildly tarnished "VRI" R.C.R. Metal cap badge present as well. Lastly, a pair of worsted battledress trousers in fine condition that have slightly tattered cuffs and legible inkstamp issue markings on the white linen interior lining (maker is "MARITIME PANT MFG. CO./FEB. 3, 1944". This is an excellent Korean War Canadian uniform grouping and would make a fabulous addition to a collection. SOLD Manufacturer: Canadian Model: Uniform |
