West German Infrared Night Vision Device Fero 51 w/ Transit case

Description:
This is a West German INVD Fero 51 unit, these were issued to the German Federal Armed Forces in the years before the unification. They where picked up by Helmut Singer Elektronik (Electronics) of Aachen Germany after they were surplussed. His company took many electronic devises and refurbished them for use by the public. The unit was built by AEG-Telefunken, Old Dellt and Eltro. The optics were built by Zeiss, which helped the original price of the unit to be more than 12,000 US. This set was sold from his shop in 2002. These units had new bulbs and batteries installed and performance was tested at his shop. This unit look in excellent condition in an original military grade travel case with nice foam interior. This kit is complete with the night vision device Fero 51, infrared spotlight B8V including bracket for mounting on the Fero 51, hard military case, which also holds all accessories including Fero 51, new replacement bulb for the headlight B8V, copy of the complete TDV 5855 / 008-13 for the Fero51, only available in German also a three page English intro and use manual with original purchase order and another German operations manual form Helmuts shop, AC 200-240V/50Hz charger for the battery, original battery carry case/strap with brand new lead battery (6V, 12Ah), cleaning cloth, an original appears new canvas carry case for the Fero 51 with strap, a special kit key, two spare dry cartridges. Here are some of the technical details I could find, weight: approx. 1.75 kg, field angle: 6° 30 inches, adjustable lens: 0.5m to infinity, dioptre adjustment: +/-5 dptr, eyepiece distance: adjustable 58 to 72 mm, rubberized housing shock-resistant and splash-proof, operating time with standard 1.5 V battery C size approximately 100 hours. Important note the small hole in the lens cap is for testing the Fero 51 in daylight. The transducer tube amplifies the remaining light by a factor of 1000. This set appears as it would have when it left Singers shop but we have not tested it and is being sold that way.
