"Ammunition Pressure Tester (MM758)
Description:
"Ammunition Pressure Tester for .32-20 Ammo. Rare. Marked on pressure block ""Crusher de Rec. 32-20."" Device uses a Colt Official Police 32-20 barrel. Side bolt unscrews to reveal pressure plunger. A lead wafer was inserted and after firing the weapon was removed and gauged to see the pounds per square inch of pressure exerted. Probably around 1910-1920. Trigger actuates from a groove in the bottom of the wood block. Over many years we have sold others in different calibers mounted like this. Devices such as this were used by all ammo manufacturers to check the pressure consistency of their ammo. This one was used in Mexico.
