Description:
FOR SALE - a MODIFIED BUTTSTOCK from a Remington Rolling Block Model 1 Military rifle.  This modified buttstock allows attachment of a tang sight to an original Model 1 Remington Rolling Block Sporting Rifle (or military rifle) without drilling and tapping an additional hole in that original tang.  Modification is for a Marbles tang sight with 1.125" center-to-center holes, other tang sights with 1.125" ctc holes may also fit.

What you are buying is ONLY the modified wood buttstock with military buttplate and one wood screw, as shown in pictures 1 and 2.  Items NOT for sale are the rolling block rifles, tang sights, and additional screws.

The buttstock is shown mounted on two different Remington Rolling Block Sporting Rifles.  It ain't especially purty, but as a temporary modification it gets the job done! ... and avoids drilling/tapping the original tang which detracts significantly from the value of that nice original RB.
