Oberndorf made Peruvian 1909 Take Down Action
Description: 1909 Peruvian action and NOW with Original Blackburn old/ new stock bottom metal. So many ways to build a fine custom rifle on these Oberndorf made actions. These two that I have availible have had their original small Mauser threads ( .980 dia ) remove and new square or ACME type ( 1.10 x8 )threads precisely . machined in, inside torque shoulder and face of reciever all trued concentric. Both these receivers have been annealed and need to be sent out for re- hardening ( Blanchard in Utah is recommended). All this work was done to achieve the most reliable, rugged, and accurate take down system on a Mauser 98 design. Legendary gunmakers Hartmann&Weiss have used these actions and thread system on their small takedown bolt rifles. Machining the barrel threads must be done precisely for maximum accuracy. Leave the threads full and twist in place or remove approx 50% of threads in reciever and on barrel and achieve a quarter twist, fast and accurate take down. These recievers can be opened up for 30-06 length cart. Even unusual 2 barrel sets. I have built one in 30-06 and 425 Westley Richard's ( take that ) hah hah. Extended tangs and all.
