Original Full! Maynard Priming Tape Tin 10 Wrapped Rolls
Description:
This is an original round tin containing 10 individually wrapped rolls of Maynard tape primers for the Model 1855 Rifle-Musket produced by the Frankford Arsenal. Invented by Dr. Edward Maynard the thin strip of priming tape allowed for the easy priming of muskets that had been equipped with the tape priming systems that allowed for automatic priming. The lacquered tin measures 2 ½ inches in height with a diameter of 1 inch and shows much of the brown coating. The paper label on the cap is heavily stained and no longer legible. The wrapped rolls remain in excellent condition. A rare original full tin of primer tape perfect to pair with your antique rifle or for the advanced ammunition collection.
