Description: RARE EXPERIMENTAL CARTRIDGES :FRANKFORD ARSENAL CAL .276 AMMUNITION. FULL BOX OF 20 LIVE CARTRIDGES. MANUFACTURED IN 1929.Box wraped in paper label ,appears to be SEALED but taped where cartridges were poking out &.edge wear, & small paper tears. extremely readable , & VERY COLLECTIBLE. Original Red Stripe Box.. Good Condition. Box is marked Powder, IMR25 lot 1324 ,CARTRIDGE LOT 23 DRAWINGS FB 9892 and PC50. 1929 This Cartridge was Designed for both The Original Pattern M1 Garand Rifle (Experimental), and the Pederson Rifle (Experimental). The M1 Garand Rifle was originally designed for the Cal .276 Cartridge. As an Experimental Competitor to the Garand a number of PEDERSON RIFLES in Cal .276 were manufactured by Springfield Armory. Due to the Experimental and development nature of the .276 Cartridge a limited number were made and the majority of cartridges at the end of the Evaluation Program were Destroyed.
