Large Bowie 19 inches over all with a 13 1/2 inch blade. This is simular to a chefs knife but larger than any I have seen. It has a butcher knife type blade that was used to butcher a Baffalow, Bear, or large game in ny opinion. The Scabbard is blacksmith made of copper, and folded over with a copper strap folded over and ribbited. Scabbard has a loop inorder to mount to a belt. The blade has a blued appearance but the blade turns that color when it is in the scabbard for a long period of time.Their is a chance this knife may have been used during the Civil War as it was purchased in Alabama. I have been unable to locate any makers marking on the blade or scabbard. Grips are Stag and show much use, there are age cracks as photoed but the grips are tight and held in place with copper pins. This Bowie is a great knife for display and will be a great addition to your collection. buyer pays shipping and insurance. I accept Bank Cashiers Checks or Paypal.
