Presented here is a factory-sealed Greek HXP .30-06 M2 Ball military ammunition can containing 240 rounds of military surplus ammunition packed for use with the legendary M1 Garand rifle. Manufactured by HXP, also known as PYRKAL, of Greece, this ammunition has earned a strong reputation among shooters and collectors for its quality, reliability, reloadable brass cases, and authentic military packaging.

The original yellow stencil markings identify the contents as “240 CARTRIDGES CAL .30 BALL M2,” packed on “5 RD CLIPS” in bandoleers. The can is marked “LOT HXP 3013-73,” identifying it as a 1973 production lot. A factory-applied warning above the primary markings reads “DO NOT USE AS FOOD CONTAINER.”

Inside the sealed can are 240 rounds of 150-grain M2 Ball full metal jacket ammunition loaded in brass cases with non-corrosive Boxer primers. The ammunition is packed on 48 five-round stripper clips and stored in military cloth bandoleers. This differs from .30-06 ammunition packed directly on eight-round M1 Garand en-bloc clips. Five-round stripper clips allowed the cartridges to be transported in compact field-ready bandoleers and transferred into en-bloc clips or loaded into compatible military rifles using the appropriate loading equipment.
