Dug Relic Draper Shotgun Shell Found At Fort Logan, Montana From The James Dresslar Collection
Description: DESCRIPTION: Up for .... A 12 Gauge, DRAPER SHOTGUN SHELL CASING found at the site of FORT LOGAN, MONTANA. It is a dug relic in as found condition by JIM DRESSLAR, probably in the 1960's. The Draper cartridge was patented in 1864 and is from our American Indian Wars era. A magnet does NOT stick to it, but we can not determine if it is brass or copper. Fort Logan was originally established as CAMP BAKER in 1869, to protect the Benton Freight Route, local miners and settlers. It was renamed Fort Logan in 1877. It comes from Jim Dresslar's COLLECTION/ESTATE. He was a relic hunter and owner of the American Frontier Museum in Bargersville, Indiana. He had an outstanding collection of relics dating from the prehistoric period up to and including Wounded Knee. His collection contained a large and comprehensive display of, amongst other items, Trade Silver, Powder Horns, Indian Guns, Kentucky Rifles, Stone artifacts, Accoutrements, Frontier Knives, etc.. He died in 2011, creating a void in our collecting community. DIMENSIONS: 2.43" Overall Length .76" Diameter Price: $28.00 Buy Now Contact Seller |
