A fine and beautiful still life pastel painting of "Grapes & Peaches" by a well known listed Swedish artist Frans Johan Hagland (Swedish born 1822 died 1910). This stunning still life remains in its original quarter sawn oak frame with a gilded inner edge and its original antique glass. The painting is signed by Hagland. The actual painting measures 17 inches tall by 13 inches wide not including the oak frame. Written on the paper on back it describes being acquired from the estate at of Gilligans Ranch Green River Wyoming and was cleaned and re-matted in 1973. Gilligans was a real working cattle ranch owned by the well known and beloved John H. Gilligan M.D born 1856 died 1949...served as a top physician for the Union Pacific Railroad and also a Rancher. Hagland's works are known for their beautiful color, light, shading and exceptional execution. This is a museum quality painting that would be fitting of the finest home or gallery.
