U.S. Civil War Grouping Belonging To "Lt. Alphonzo J. Aldrich" Of The 19th N.Y. Infantry, (1st N.Y. Dragoons)
Description: An All Original U.S. Civil War Grouping Belonging To "Lt. Alphonzo J. Aldrich" Of The 19th N.Y. Infantry, (1st N.Y. Dragoons) Which Includes His Eagle Officers Buckle With His Initials On The Back, A 1/6 Tintype Of Him With His Sword, A CDV Of Him, & A Small Tintype Of His Wife All In Very Good Untouched Condition. The buckle is crisp throughout with a nice even natural patina on it. The tintype is clear and has a fine thermoplastic eagle case with it.The CDV and the small tintype of his wife are also clear. All of the photos are identified on the back. Lt. Aldrich enlisted as a private on Sept. 3, 1862 and rose through the ranks to second lieutenant. He mustered out on June 30, 1865. He had fine service throughout and was wounded in action at Newton VA. on August 11, 1864. His regiment had a fine history. The regiment lost 126 men and 4 officers in battle. They fought the entire war in VA. and were in 94 skirmishes and battles. These included Deserted House VA., Manassas VA, Todd's Tavern VA, Yellow Tavern VA, Cold Harbor VA, Trevillian Station VA, Petersburg, Deep Bottom, Newtown, Shepherdstown, Smithfield, Opequan, Winchester, New Market, Cedar Creek, Five Forks, & Appomattox Court House, VA. When Lee Surrendered. This Is A Fine Identified Grouping Of Items That Belonged To "Lt. Alphonzo J. Aldrich" Of The 19th N.Y. Infantry, (1st N.Y. Dragoons).
