Pre War Engraved Ithaca 37 12ga VR barrel

This is a fascinating barrel- SN 1460 puts it in the first year or two of Ithaca 37 production, and can be fitted to any pre-855,000 numbered receiver. 

It has beautiful engraving around the chamber that I believe to be aftermarket, but I'm not sure. It also sports a Simmons rib. The barrel measures 24.75" long, and does not bear a standard Ithaca choke designation, which is curious. I would say it's been cut, but perhaps a keen Ithaca expert would know better. The muzzle is blued and clean. I suspect the barrel has been reblued from the engraving and stamp lettering, please see pics for details. 

Perfect for an S or T grade 37, for skeet or gunning over a close working dog in tight cover. Bore is excellent and bright. Some minor wear on the bluing from age. Please feel free to request any additional pics or info.
