1899 Dated Krag Bayonet & Steel Scabbard W/ Late M1899 Belt Attchment

Description:
This is a Krag bayonet stamped US on the obverse of the ricasso and dated 1899 on the reverse. It measures 16 1/4 inches overall with an 11 5/8 inch fullered blade very lightly sharpened with scattered carbon staining, use marks and scratches. The crossguard and pommel show light use and impact marks with pommel marked "s18". The wood grips are both marked with "S" and the right scale is marked with a serial #. They remain solid and near excellent condition with light surface marks and contusions. It comes in a model 1892 steel scabbard with much of the original finish, light scratches and has the Model 1899 Belt attachment with the wide double wire attachment to prevent belt fraying. A very nice example of a unit marked 1899 Krag bayonet.
