Canadian M1853 Socket Bayonet w/ Scabbard Montreal Garrison Artillery
Description: This is a British M1853 Socket Bayonet for use with the Enfield, Snider, Martini rifles. This bayonet is in very good+ original condition with a dark finish 17.5" blade with many signs of use, light pitting, oxidation and nice tip. The ricasso carries E over Crown over 30 with no other marks. The 3" socket is also very good with dings and signs of use, marked MGA 54 for the "54th Montreal Garrison Artillery". This comes with a very good condition intermediate type (1860-66) scabbard with nice leather and brass chape and top with the frog stud marked with British unit markings of "32.106". Has an areas of loose stitching. The very good condition frog has intact stitching and supple leather and is marked on its reverse, S.Fisher & Sons. Quebec with a date of 1914. Also marked "Q.H.G. 328" for the 328 Quebec Home Guard and two large 14's. This combination had a very long service life starting in the British Army in the mid-centrury, sent to Canada, in sevice with the MGA and finishing up with the QHG Zouave.
