Excellent WWI US M1917 Remington Bayonet w/ Jewell Scabbard
Description: This is an original WWI US M1917 Remington Bayonet with scabbard. The M1917 was produced by Remington and Winchester from 1917 to 1919 at approximate 2.5 million pieces. They fit the Model 1917 and US shotguns Winchester M97, M12, Ithaca M37 and Stevens M520-30, 620A. This Remington M1917 is in very good to excellent condition with an unsharpened, correct length and unaltered tipped blade with almost no oxidation. The ricasso is stamped with all of the correct markings, flaming bomb U.S. 20, X, eagle head. The crossguard and pommel are in excellent condition with the light nicks and wear with almost all of the original finish. The wooden grips are in excellent condition with normal wear and a dark brown patina with minor dents. The pommel has a series Transportation Corp unit marks, TC31/649. The correct scabbard has 85-90% finish on the steel chape/locket with light oxidation. The leather body has almost all of the original greenish finish and tight stitching and is clearly marked JEWELL 1918. Will make a fine addition to any collection.; SOLD |
