U.S. MODEL 1904 HOSPITAL CORPS BOLO KNIFE BY SPRINGFIELD ARSENAL, CIRCA 1914.

Description:
U.S. MODEL 1904 HOSPITAL CORPS BOLO KNIFE BY SPRINGFIELD ARSENAL, CIRCA 1914. Mint bright uncleaned blade with crisp "U.S./ 39079" on ricasso and "S.A./ flaming bomb/ 1914" on reverse. Brass hilt a nice mustard color never having been cleaned. Excellent one-piece original wood wraparound grip with original brass rivets. Wood with a few use dings but otherwise mint for one of these. Rock Island/1912 dated scabbard with blue belt loop. Excellent stitching. Bit of water staining at tip but discoloration only. Back of scabbard crisply stamped "Rock Island/ Arsenal/ 1912/ H.E.K." and "C.U.". Brass and blue steel on scabbard never been cleaned either. Prime example.
